Super Simple Speedo in dark mode with a confirmed road and speed limit

Simple where it matters.

Super Simple Speedo focuses on the information that matters while you’re moving: your current speed, the road limit when it can be identified, and a clear display designed to be read at a glance.

It uses GPS for speed, can automatically look up road and speed-limit information, supports light and dark appearance, and clearly distinguishes confirmed road information from a best estimate.

A speedometer that stays out of the way.

Super Simple Speedo started from a very simple idea: when you need a speedometer, you should be able to open one and immediately understand it.

The web version remains available, while native iPhone and Android versions become the main way to use the app. The product is intentionally small, privacy-conscious and focused rather than trying to become another driving dashboard full of things you did not ask for.

Privacy.

Effective: 29 August 2026

Super Simple Speedo is designed to do a small job with as little data collection as practical. It has no user accounts, no advertising, and no user tracking.

Location

Super Simple Speedo uses your device’s precise location while you are using the app to calculate your current speed and to provide automatic road and speed-limit information. Speed calculation is performed on the device. When automatic road or speed-limit lookup is used, location coordinates are transmitted securely from the app to a server function operated for Super Simple Speedo and then to Geoapify so that the road or speed limit can be identified.

What we do not do

  • We do not require or maintain a Super Simple Speedo user account.
  • We do not use location or other app data for advertising or marketing.
  • We do not track you across apps, websites, or services.
  • We do not sell personal data.
  • We do not enable Netlify Web Analytics or Real User Monitoring for the service.

Diagnostics

Diagnostic information is kept locally on the device and is not uploaded automatically. If you choose to share a diagnostic log, sharing is initiated by you. The shareable format is designed to exclude precise coordinates, road and station names, public-transport destinations and line identifiers, API keys, and persistent identifiers.

Retention and your choices

Super Simple Speedo does not maintain an application database of your journeys or location history. You can stop location access at any time in your device settings. If our data practices change, this privacy information and the app’s store privacy information will be updated.

Questions, feedback, bugs or ideas? We’d love to hear from you.

If you’re reporting a problem, including your app version and build number helps. You can also include the sanitised Support Diagnostics from the app.
